Description

Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation of hand-picked berry juice and its pulp takes place in stainless steel barrels. Fermented juice is matured for two years, initially in new American oak barrels. Later, another year - in used oak barrels. The cherry-ruby coloured wine has an intense aroma of strawberry jam, cherry, vanilla, coconut, licorice, leather and smoke. The taste in the mouth is dry, of medium weight and has an intense and long-lasting taste.

Serving recommendation

Serve at 16-18 ° C with beef, lamb or game dishes, matured hard cheeses.

"La Rioja Alta" can be called the representatives of the old Rioja, because the winery adheres to the traditional winemaking methods of the region. Gran Reserva wine is kept in barrels for up to 6 years and in the bottle for another couple of years before it reaches the final consumer. The vineyards of "La Rioja Alta" are located at a high altitude. Due to such conditions, the wine somewhat resembles Burgundy Pinot Noir wines.
