The grapes are harvested from different growing areas in Burgos and Valladolid. The average age of the vines is 30 to 35 years. The wine was aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels (33% of new French oak, 34% of used French and American oak barrels, 33% of oak barrels used for two years). The wine spent another 12 months in bottles in the winemaker’s cellars. The intense ruby wine smells of strawberries and cherry stones, vanilla, licorice and smoke. In the mouth, the wine is dry, of medium weight, with sickle tannins and a long aftertaste.
Serve at 15-17 °C with various meat dishes, pasta with meat sauce, hard matured cheeses.
