Description

Grapes are destemmed. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel. 26% of the wine ages for 6 months in new Francois Freres puncheons. 74% of the wine ages in stainless steel sur lie. Malolactic fermentation does not occur.Varner's El Camino Chardonnay is an interpretation of a classic Santa Barbara Chardonnay. Tropical flavors are framed by a phenolic structure of destemmed fruit and new French oak aging. Bright acidity sends the tropical fruit flavors over to citrus and apples for a more tightly coiled Chardonnay in a modern style.

Serving recommendation

Serve at 12-14 °C with grilled salmon, pasta, richer cheese pizzas, white forest mushrooms fried in butter.

2021-01-10 You can taste the bottle age in this four-year-old wine. The Varner family of Santa Cruz make this from a cool Los Alamos vineyard site. It’s taken on a golden hue, with flavors of apple and toasted lees. It’s a quiet stunner, for roast chicken. Įvertinimas: 91

About producer

Lucille (b. 1921) was the daughter of Antanas Tananevicius, the mother of Jim and Bob Varner, who today own Varner Wine on the Central Coast of California, south of San Francisco. Vyndarii's grandfather came to the United States in 1897 at the age of eleven. In 1914, he graduated from the Chicago College of Medicine and Surgery and became a doctor. The personality of grandfather's brother Jonas Mykolas Tananevičius is even more colorful. He came to the United States in 1895. In 1899, together with priest Kriaučiūnas, he started publishing the weekly "Katalikas" in Chicago, which later became the property of Jonas Tananevičius. John established a bank in the premises of the newspaper office, naming it Tananewich Bank. Since 1914 "Catholic" went daily. in 1915 the newspaper and bookstore were separated from the bank. The first congress of Lithuanian newspaper publishers and editors took place here. in 1917 the bank went bankrupt they had to stop publishing the newspaper and close the bookstore. The four-year-old brothers left Chicago and today make wine in Santa Barbara, the Santa Cruz Mountains and Paso Robles. We brought the 2016, which has already begun to ripen. fragrant Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara and single vineyard Chardonnay, made as we imagine the ideal Californian white wine to be - scented with peaches, tropical fruit and sweet oak vanilla. All products by this producer
