WSET Level 2 Award in Spirits Course

A beginner to intermediate level qualification exploring spirits and liqueurs for those working in the industry or spirits enthusiasts.

For individuals wishing to develop their expertise in spirits and liqueurs, you’ll learn about the fundamental production methods and principal raw materials discovering how they are used to make the key spirit styles. You’ll also explore the key practices and principles of serving spirits and the use of spirits in cocktails. Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin, and will be able to use the associated WSET certified logo.

 This course is delivered in 15 hours of tutored supervise learning (2 full days) + 11 hours of private study.

Course Programme

The course will cover:

• The spirits production methods and how they affect the final quality and style
• The key characteristics of the main styles of spirits and liqueurs and their labelling terms
• The common equipment used and the principles involved in the service
• The major global spirits brands
• Tutored tastings of more than 29 of spirits and liqueurs 
• How to describe spirits using the WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Spirits® (SAT)

Course Description

Requirements before attending the course

No prior knowledge is required. All our courses are taught in English.  

About the exam

In order to obtain the WSET Level 2 Award in Spirits certificate and the lapel pin, you must sit a final exam consisting of 50 multiple choice questions to be completed in 60 minutes. To pass, students must answer 55% of the questions correctly.
